About Us

Windamere Park maintains policies and procedures that cover every aspect of the property, occupational health safety and welfare, and working with people with disabilities.

Our senior management team, together with our staff, regularly reviews Windamere Park’s policies and procedures to ensure their accuracy and compliance.

If you wish to see any of our policies or procedures, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Windamere Park has achieved Australian Service Excellence Standards certification, which is re-assessed every three years, and is proudly a preferred provider of the National Disability Insurance Agency.

Our qualified staff undergo regular training and development and, along with our volunteers, hold DCSI Screening clearance and up-to-date First Aid Certificates.

Windamere Park is a 300-acre property at Buckland Park, about a 30 minute drive north of Adelaide, that provides a wide range of learning experiences for people living with intellectual disability or acquired brain injury.

Each week, more than 400 people visit Windamere Park to participate in programmes and activities that help them achieve their life goals.

Our highly skilled and dedicated staff work closely with participants to ensure a meaningful, educational, and enjoyable experience, regardless of whether it is through a single day visit or an ongoing programme.

We support people to develop and improve their social and behavioural skills, independent living, community integration, pre-vocational skills, all while having a fun experience in a safe and unique environment.

Windamere Park’s beautiful semi-rural farm environment surrounds the old homestead and includes 35 acres of wetlands, olive groves, a vegetable and herb garden, a wonderful range of animals including cows, sheep, horses, geese, two graceful peacocks and a chicken egg farm.

Facilities include an arts and crafts centre, a fully equipped kitchen adjacent a large air-conditioned hall, sensory and computer rooms, cattle yards, aquatic equipment for fishing, crabbing and yabbying, and a walking and bicycling clubhouse.

Our programmes and activities, which we have delivered for more than two decades, are available from Monday to Friday for 48 weeks of the year.

Windamere Park is a Public Benevolent Institution with a seven-member Board who govern the overall direction and strategy of the organisation.

The Managing Director is supported by three senior managers and more than 24 staff and volunteers to deliver high quality services for Windamere Park’s participants.

Windamere Park’s offices are based on the Buckland Park property and you can contact

them here.

We are very proud of Windamere Park’s dedicated staff of qualified teachers and skilled trainers who continuously set a high standard to deliver a quality experience for our participants.

Our staff love what they do and it shows – they ensure participants remain our number one priority and strive to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience at every visit.

All participants at Windamere Park have their progress reviewed and assessed and we work together with them, their families and carers, to help them achieve their life goals.
